There are new, clear guidelines to follow when responding to all absences, including illness. Under this new system, the total number of days a ākonga misses per term, for any reason, will trigger a check-in. This may be a phone call from school or to arrange a face-to-face meeting.
Consistent attendance is key to ākonga success. To keep you informed, Hero will send an automated update if your tamariki miss 5, 10, or 15 days of school. These milestones are part of the Stepped Attendance Response (STAR), helping us work together to provide any extra support your family might need.
